Urban Agriculture – Do it yourself!

Sometimes it seems there is no room on the terrace, balcony or yard for a large and well cared flowerbed, because we are perhaps used to look at the space in a more "flat" way.

If we change our perspective, if we look at the space in a vertical way, then we discover that the sky is actually the limit!

So how do we do it?

  1. Prepare strings of the length that suits the column height. The rest of the strings should be left for fixing balance and stretching.

  2. Tie the strings to the hanging point.

  3. Prepare drains on the bottle stopper/cap.

  4. Cut and remove the bottom of the bottle and make holes on the side of the bottle near the edge.

  5. Pass the string from top to bottom, from the inside to the outside, every string in its hole.

  6. Adjust the desired bottle height and tie the strings around the neck of the bottle, one after the other.

  7. During the tying and after it, make sure the strings are tied to an equal length and the bottle is vertically straight.

  8. Now repeat steps 3-7 to create the desired column height.

  9. You can make several columns together tor maximize utilization of the vertical space unit.

  10. Fill in with a quality breeding ground and plant.

  11. Voilà!

Tip: It is recommended to connect the vertical flowerbeds in drip irrigation and wrap the growth containers with an opaque cloth in order to prevent the development of mildew type growth and to maintain a medium temperature in the growth containers.
